Between March 24–29, 2025, the fourth Learning, Teaching, and Training Activity (LTTA4) took place in Porto, Portugal, as part of the Erasmus+ project Blue Europe – Sustainable Water Management in Schools. The event brought together students and teachers from across Europe for a week of hands-on environmental learning, cultural exchange, and international collaboration.

Day 1 – Welcome & Field Exploration
Arrival and welcome kits distribution
School tour and introduction activities
Icebreaker and team-building sessions
Presentation of participants’ prior work
Walk along the Tinto River and collection of water samples
On-site water analysis and discussion
Day 2 – Practical Applications
Morning visit to Sealife Porto – discovering marine biodiversity
Picnic in Central Park
Interactive visit to the Water Pavilion – learning about hydropower, water mills, and water-based experiments
Lab session with practical water experiments
Day 3 – Porto Discovery Challenge
Urban exploration of Porto’s Old Town
Goosechase interactive challenge – 12 missions completed in mixed international teams
Focus on understanding the Douro River’s role in daily life, economy, and culture
Key themes: discovery, teamwork, connection, interculturality
Day 4 – Reflection & Dialogue
Group presentations of project activities and results
Open discussions on ideas, feedback, and proposals
Survey on responsible water use conducted by the University of Agriculture in Krakow (Poland)
Afternoon hike along the Midões trail and visit to Jancido Watermills
Day 5 – Conclusions & Celebration
Summary of the week’s activities

Foundation of the Blue Schools Consortium and discussion of its Action Plan
Design proposals for the Blue Schools Social Campaign
Cultural celebration with music and traditional dances
