Project summary
The Blue Europe. Sustainable water management in schools (BLUE) project aims to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly water management practices in schools across Europe. Led by a consortium of partner organizations, the project focuses on establishing cooperation among European schools to implement water management initiatives effectively. The project seeks to create a council dedicated to fostering collaboration among European schools regarding water management practices and it aims to facilitate the exchange of innovative water management practices among participating schools.

This European Blue Schools Consortium is a comprehensive framework designed to guide our school communities towards a more sustainable future. It is imperative for educational institutions to take proactive steps towards fostering sustainability consciousness among students, staff, and the broader community.

Who Are We?
The European Blue Schools Consortium (EBSC) is a European, apolitical, non-profit, and independent educational association created to promote sustainability, with a focus on responsible water management in schools.
Founded under European legislation and headquartered in Tecuci, Galați County, Romania, EBSC serves the public interest and is established for an indefinite period.

EBSC Objectives
Raise ecological awareness and education among students and teachers;
Encourage the protection and sustainable use of water resources;
Build a European educational network focused on sustainability;
Support and inspire young people to adopt a healthy, active lifestyle.
What Do We Do?
To achieve our mission, EBSC proposes the following activities:
Organizing training courses, seminars, conferences, camps, and summer schools;
Hosting educational and sports competitions between schools;
Running awareness campaigns and public events on ecological topics;
Conducting monitoring and research projects related to local water resources;
Publishing brochures, posters, periodicals, and digital materials;
Offering scholarships to students excelling in environmental fields;
Collaborating with public institutions and private organizations on sustainability projects;
Promoting the image and objectives of EBSC through television, radio, and online media.

If your school has implemented at least two projects in the fields of water protection, ecological education, or promoting a healthy lifestyle in the past five years—you are eligible to become part of EBSC.
